While some old rail depots have been restored and kept as historic relics (the Amtrak station in Lewistown comes to mind), many, like this ex. Reading depot in Gardners, have fallen into disrepair. One finds the interior a mess when looking through the windows, and all that remains of the depot's platform are its supports. It would be a wonderful site to see the depot someday restored, through it seems to me unlikely. Here, the Gettysburg and Western daily local passes the depot as it prepares to set out its entire consist before continuing South for a few pick-ups.
