Remarks & Notes |
A loaded ethanol train bound for the NS at Chicago, rolls over the Poyner Creek at Raymond, 6 miles east of Waterloo. Most ethanol trains come and go from Iowa with lots of run thru foreign power (junk!). Once in awhile something odd will run thru, but you got to get lucky. Dumb luck would have today I would be around when that "once in awhile" train ran.. Leading today's U706 is the ex-BN 7149. This unit has flared radiators from being a former LNG (Liquid Natural Gas) test SD40-2. NS acquired a bunch of SD40's from Helm from 2011-2014. The group of 80 numbered 3505-3584 were delivered between 11-2013 and 6-2014. Kind of cool odd ball to see on the point! |
