Hampton Roads Transit 409, a Siemens S70 Light Rail Vehicle, approaches the Harbor Park station as it heads west through Norfolk, Virginia, on January 20, 2015. Known as “The Tide,” these LRVs operate on a line connecting Eastern Virginia Medical School, Downtown Norfolk, Norfolk State University, and Newtown Road. Service began on August 19, 2011, making it the first light rail system in Virginia.
