Shortly after 7.30 pm an unknown "Allegra" ABe 8/12 of the Rhaetian Railway, running the second to last southbound train 4657 over the Bernina pass from St.Moritz to Poschiavo, draws a curved light track along the frozen and mostly snow-covered Lago Bianco , about 2250 meters above sea level. The almost full moon bathes the "arctic" landscape in a beautiful bluish light. In the far distance above the northern dam of the lake you can see the 3246 meter high Piz Ot, which is located north of the Engadine. To the right is the pyramid-shaped Piz Albris, 3166 metres high. The red lights next to the light track of the train near Ospizio Bernina come from the flashing lights at the footpath crossing. The temperature is about minus 12 degrees celsius (10,4 F) or minus 20 Celsius with the wind chill factor.
