On the final day of 2019, BPRR Salamanca - Riker train (SIRI) has former Southern Pacific SD45T-2, now GEXR 3054 leading the consist of 4 SD type locomotives. The train is working hard as it nears the summit of the grade and* passes through the Bingham road rock cut near Cyclone, PA as a snowstorm* starts to ramp up. After hearing about 3054 leading SIRI the previous evening, my father and I made the 2.5-hour drive from Rochester to Salamanca in the early hours of NYE to intercept the train as it started its journey. Needless to say it was quite a fitting end to the decade.
