Remarks & Notes |
Back from the dead! The lead unit on today's Albany to Thomasville train is back in service after being sidelined for an extended period of time due to an electrical fire. This GP38 started life as a Penn Central unit, served Conrail, and became a Helm lease unit assigned to the Georgia & Florida Railway. The GFRR decided to buy this locomotive from Helm a few years ago and is now an important part of the power strapped shortline. |
