Remarks & Notes
19 of the 8-car N700-7000 series shinkansen were built for JR West from 2010 to 2012, for the "Sakura" and "Mizuho" services between Shin-Osaka and Kagoshima-Chuo. In contrast to the N700 series of JR Central/JR West, they have no tilting mechanism, but all axles are driven due to the heavier grades on the Kyushu Shinkansen line. External livery is shiraai pale blue intended to evoke the colour of traditional porcelain with indigo and gold bodyside lining. Trainset # S 7 is entering Shin-Yamaguchi station with a "Sakura" service from Kagoshima-Chuo to Shin-Osaka.
