The Santa Fe built into Marceline around 1887. Marceline, came at the request of a director of the new railway whose wife had the Spanish name of “Marcelina.” This depot was built in 1913, and served as the Missouri Division offices, and for crews until 1989 when the crew change point was abolished. It was also a stop for the Southwest Chief until May 1997. Here a grain train loaded at Polo, IL, bound for Eagle Pass, TX, passes by the restored depot that is now a Museum for Walt Disney.
