Catching the warm embrace of sunlight on this cool, winter morning, BNSF's 2019 Southern California Christmas Train bends around the hillside just east of the Swarthout Canyon Road grade crossing. In the foreground are the westbound lanes of Interstate 15, which although much faster, still doesn't deter folks from traversing a section the original Route 66 that travels through Blue Cut alongside the tracks.
