Wednesday afternoon, I went out for a drive, and one of my first actual chases along the Hiawatha Sub. Here's the UP 1943 on the point of loaded Rail train WWGPUR-14, running west out of Hiawatha on their way towards Marysville, KS.
Just west of Marysville, with a new crew on board, they're headed for South Platte, with the last bit of sun reaching their nose.
For this one, the railfan Gods were smiling on me. I had a HS basketball game to be at after school, so there's a narrow window of free time available. I was able to receive a heads up that it was on the west side of Topeka, get up to the tracks on the east side of town, GTS, and still get back to school with time to spare! Sometimes, it all works out!
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
