As part of a purchase by the State of California, Amtrak is testing the Siemens Venture coach. This will ultimately be part of a semi-permenantly coupled transit. Running as train 840 on a very the train covered a portion of the Northeast Corridor Line to test at 125 MPH. This car may represent the future of a good portion of the medium and long distance rail travel in the United States.
