The new 15 kilometer long Ceneri Base Tunnel (CBT) from Camorino in the Magadino plane near Giubiasco/Cadenazzo, called Vigana, to Vezia north of Lugano will officially inaugurated on september 4th this year and opened for timetabled service in december 2020. In the moment, there are several test runs, for example with the german ICE-S, which reached 275 km/h in the tunnel on may first. Here we can see a radio measurement train with leading cab car Bt, 4 Apm cars, the yellow radio measurement car X 60 85 99-90 108 and locomotive Re 460 # 084 shoving in the rear. The train is running southwards, entering the north portal of the tunnel on the track, which will be used by trains running northwards usually. The tunnel was built from 2006 and has two single bores, and has connections to and from Cadenazzo-Locarno too.
