Southern Pacific Returns to the Coast Line. Well, sort of. Patched GP60 No. 1053, originally Southern Pacific No. 9759, looks right at home as it throttles up through the Oxnard Amtrak/Metrolink station with the LOF63 and begins its journey south. Bound for Camarillo this morning, the 63 will make a quick stop to drop cars off at the Procter & Gamble Paper Products (P&G) facility first - utilizing the roughest track this power will traverse today. For now, however, if you squint your eyes and use your imagination a little...this shot of the 1053 heading out of town sure brings back memories of the Southern Pacific on the coast line.
