Remarks & Notes
A pair of St. Maries Railroad GP9s trundle across the long wooden trestle crossing Benewah Lake near Parkline Idaho. The 12 loads of wood products are bound for interchange with the Union Pacific in Plummer Idaho. STMA GP9s 101 and 103 were built between April and June of of 1959 as Milwaukee Road 292 and 322. Some 60 years after being built these GP9s are still working their original home rail. The St. Maries railroad operates on one of the last stretches of the Milwaukee Road's Pacific Coast Extension west of Eastern Montana.
