Remarks & Notes
Only a few days into my first semester in college, I bustled over to Decatur after class to meet up with a friend of mine. Norfolk Southern's OCS train was enroute to Decatur, heading back east to Pennsylvania. Although I could've just stopped in Tolono on my way home from class, I drove almost 45 minutes just to nearly miss it. When we saw it at Harristown, we made it just in time. From there, we quickly went towards Cerro Gordo to get another shot. The crew change didn't take long and it was back on its way. Seen just east of Cerro Gordo, the OCS is amongst a bean field as it maintains trackspeed behind a set of A-B-B-A F-units. Little was it known that this was the F-unit's final trip before being retired and sold off, due to Norfolk Southern's new "PSR" plan. The top executives didn't see a need for these historical units anymore.
