Remarks & Notes |
The main terminus of the Northwestern Pacific was the yard at Eureka where the railroad meets the sea. The railroad once hauled forest products until washouts along the Eel River canyon landlocked this collection of 1st generation power where they remain today. In 2015 & 2016, they locomotives received some attention after years of corrosion and vandalism, which included this coat of gray primer. Central California Traction Co. GP7 #70 was cut up and the other locomotives were planned to be trucked out in portions but remain here today, know as the "zombie trains" by the locals. EX SP 3190 has roof-mounted air tanks known as "torpedo-tubes" to railfans. |
