About 10 years after they were ordered from Bombardier, the doubledeck trains for long distance services (FVD = Fern Verkehr Doppelstockzug) started running on the IC1 line across Switzerland, after they reached a sufficient reliability for this most important line of the SBB. RABDe 502 # 011 "Romanshorn" and # 013 (IC200 versions) in multiple control, forming a 401 meter long train with 1202 seats in first and second class, are running the IC 705 from Fribourg via Berne-Zurich to St.Gallen, between Uzwil and Flawil.
