The former SOU 3024, built in 1965, has certainly seen better days. After the Southern, it became the Fox River Valley Railroad #2500 before it was sent to the Wisconsin Central. It spent loyal years with the WC and even the CN after the takeover. Today, it spends its days at the National Railway Equipment facility in Silvis, IL. Around this time, NREX began a big sale to a private contractor and anything marked "LEWIS" is on death row with the scrapper's torch. Sadly, #2500's day is coming, but at least it's in good company!
