Remarks & Notes |
Former Deutsche Bundesbahn express train steamlocomotive 01 # 202, based in Lyss BE, is running over the "Volksbank" traffic roundabout (crossing Georg-Fischer-Strasse/Güterstrasse) in Singen (Hohentwiel) with the re-opening train from Ramsen. It is the first passenger train since 51 years between Rielasingen and Singen. The 13,29 kilometer long line Etzwilen-Singen (Hohentwiel)/Germany was built by the Schweizerische Nationalbahn and opened in 1875. Later owned and operated by the SBB, but never electrified. Freight traffic with diesel locomotives ended in 1996 between Ramsen and Singen. Passenger train service between Etzwilen and Singen was discontinued in 1969 already. |
