Santa Fe’s 168 train, powered by a pair of SF30Cs (rebuilt GE U36Cs) and an EMD GP20, pass milepost 133 working upgrade through Houlihan’s Curve up Edelstein Hill west of Chillicothe, Illinois, on the afternoon of April 30, 1988. The SF30Cs are painted in the short-lived and ill-advised Southern Pacific Santa Fe paint colors that resembled the Kodachrome film boxes of the era.
