Remarks & Notes
The remains of AR "Allegheny Ridge" Tower sits idle on this June morning awaiting it's final demise. Built by the Pennslyvania Railroad in 1944, it sits at the summit of the eastern continental divide. It has seen trains from the Pennslyvania, Penn Central, Conrail, and Norfolk Southern. When this photo was taken, it was rumored to be demolished within a week.
