Remarks & Notes |
Never Say Never, Again. NJ Transit 4218 (GP40PH-2B, neƩ Penn Central 3199, GP40, 10/1968) has recently returned from the non-revenue and stored fleet back to active passenger service. On the evening of Thursday, October 8, 2020, it leads Train 1009 over Lower Hack Bridge near Jersey City, NJ while celebrating the month of its birth, 52 years later. Once thought to be headed off the property, the substantial fleet of "geeps" have been a major resource to NJT as it sorts out PTC and mechanical issues with its more modern engines. |
