Remarks & Notes |
The 267-foot tall clock tower at Ayer Mill in Lawrence, Massachusetts is reported to be the largest mill clock tower in the world. The four glass faces are only six inches smaller than the faces of Big Ben in London. The platform and canopy to the left of the train is the site of the former Lawrence Station. With word of an afternoon POAY road freight having a GP40 leader, this shot immediately came to mind. The Maine Central 354 was originally built for the Penn Central in 1969 and served through the Conrail era. |
