Norfolk Southern Corp SD40Es 6348 (née-CR 6724, SD50, 12/1983) and 6349 (née-CR 6702, SD50, 11/1983) have spent a significant portion of their recent careers within 50 miles of Altoona, Pennsylvania, serving as helper units from the east slope around Horsehoe Curve and down the west slope (or vice versa). With the introduction of the SD70ACu fleet to this pool, these SD40Es have been assigned to local service out of Enola, Pennsylvania, and are seen on NS H38 crossing the Rockville Bridge over the Susquehanna River in Marysville, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 from the Bridgeview Bed & Breakfast.
