Remarks & Notes |
I originally thought this was a Utah Railway train. But after talking to others in the know, this is a Rio Grande coal train with Union Pacific pool power. Destined for the Pleasant Valley branch (Skyline mine) Using six Union Pacific SD40-2's, UP 3538 prepares to enter the Thistle Tunnel. Once again employees are out on the porch on the lead locomotive, for this historic moment. Tom Ellis photo. |
