Remarks & Notes |
Southbound 214 battles up the grade through the (now) small town of Cobalt, famous for its rich silver mining history. It’s passing what’s left of the “Right of Way” silver mine, so named so because of its proximity to the railway. The town also has a museum and a number of other well preserved mining relics from the silver rush days gone by... today Roberval Saguenay GP38-3 (RS 71) is along for the tour, enroute to North Bay for servicing from its own mining jobs in northern Quebec. |
