For years, rumors have been floating around that the coal fired, Midwestern Generating Station in Romeoville was going to be making a transition to natural gas. Most, if not all nearby plants have already done just that or closed altogether. Romeoville's plant is still going strong through the beginning of 2021 and as long as there's coal around, the two Will County Coal Handling SD20's find work. The old Southern 2505 was smoking up a storm on this sunny morning, as it rumbled into the plant in run 8.
