By the time that this photo was taken in May, 1979, Conrail’s big Alco’s were making their last stand in Ohio ore service. They would soon be cut up, but this wreck-damaged C630 seen in the Collinwood, Ohio dead line got a jump on the scrapper’s torch. I don’t know the circumstances of this damage, but hopefully the crew was OK.
