Thanks to a heads up the night before, I received word that the Georgia Northeastern was going to be bringing the Blue Ridge Scenic power to Tate for their annual visit to the shop on January 21st. This was noteworthy as this trip & the return trip are the only times of the year where the stretch of the former L&N "Hook & Eye" line between Blue Ridge & Whitestone will see any train movement since their are no customers on that portion of it. Having never documented a movement on it, I made sure to dedicate my day to documenting it. I normally wouldn't get excited for an engine lite movement, but the rarity of movement on the line made it a must. Here, we see the power still south of Ellijay as it weaves through the woods, closing in on the marble mines & in turn, closing in on Whitestone.
