Not Seldom, But Unpowered Vehicles. For the modest purchase price of $152.50 a piece, former Connecticut Department Of Transportation 1621 (presently GVRX 1621) was one of 3 "Constitution Liners” that made their way to the Grapevine Railroad in Texas. Of 31 total constructed by Budd, 11 were purchased by CDOT and ultimately converted to coaches by removing all of their diesel powered motive gear. Even as non-powered coaches, they were not favored by the railroad, were ultimately placed into long term storage before being sold. On the night of Wednesday, December 30, 2020, it sits at the railroad’s Grapevine, Texas yard, still wearing its CDOT logo.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
