Continuing further up the Elkhorn Grade on the late afternoon of March 21, 2021, NS #1187 thunders by the old powerhouse near Maybeury, WV used to power mines in this area. This power station, which came online in 1907, was originally built to power the Angle, Delta, Lick Branch, Norfolk, and Shamokin mines in this region. This powerhouse also served the Sagamore mine several miles away in Mercer County and later even a few mines in Tazewell County, Va.
