Remarks & Notes
BNSF's Local based out of Grand Jct. CO makes the trek out to Parachute, located approximately 45 miles East of Grand Jct. every Monday-Wednesday-Friday. Here it is seen here approaching Tunnel siding in De Beque Canyon, having just exited out of Beaver Tail Tunnel and following alongside a muddy Colorado River on a Wednesday run. Usually always worked by four-axle EMD engines, a recent addition has been General Electric B40-8W #521. The consist also includes a pair of ex GP30's with second engine #2828 originally built as the CB&Q #942 and trailing engine #2549 being the ex-ATSF #1221.
