AmFleet to Amagansett. On Tuesday, July 6, 2021, Amtrak 10002 (Corridor Clipper) was transferred to the MTA LIRR Long Island City Yard in Queens, New York. It was placed in a consist with DE30ACs 401 and 409 and prepared to make a geometry inspection trip to Montauk, New York the following day. Amtrak is planning viable options for expanding its regional trains in various parts of the country. While there were briefly direct Empire Service trains to Mets Games, Amtrak has never offered direct service to any of the points further east on Long Island.
