A good number of loaded coke cars are staged in IHB's Lakefront Yard, awaiting their turn to be dumped in Cleveland Cliff's Indiana Harbor plant as L512 (better known as the Lakefront Local) skirts the shores of Lake Michigan in East Chicago, Indiana. Leading the way is an Elgin, Joliet & Eastern SD38-2, running on its former rails. L512 originates at Kirk Yard and travels to the south side of Chicago to work the Port of Chicago near 95th Street.
