BNSF train Q-NYCLAC6-08L (Guaranteed Service Intermodal, New York NY to Los Angeles CA), with run-through Norfolk Southern power (ES44AC 8104 in Heritage paint for the old Lehigh Valley Railroad and ES44DC 7589) has come to a stop at the east end of BNSF’s Barstow Yard for a crew change. As Conductor Walters and Engineer Cox wait for a fresh crew, Dale Martin takes advantage of the stationary train as the sun begins to dip below the horizon – and the day’s high desert temperatures finally get bearable.
