Remarks & Notes |
Built by the Budd Company in 1951, Lehigh Valley No. 40 one of only two RDC-1's that the railroad owned. The RDC's were used for passenger service between Lehighton and Hazelton, PA. It later worked for Reading and SEPTA before being donated by PennDOT to the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania in 1984. It arrived in operable condition, but has not been run in many years. |
