Railroading is serious business. But thank goodness for regional operations that can provide safe service and has an appreciation for a sense of humor.
The shop forces in Owosso take excellent care of the Great Lakes Central's venerable EMD fleet. Kevin Wood, a contractor, is installing upgraded electrical controls to one of the recently acquired SD35s that came from Montana Rail Link, and NW before that. The open electrical cabinet door gives us a clue as to the secret ingredient for the new electronics.
Ultimately the good news is that their fleet of GP35s and SD35s should be soldiering on for a long time!
