The steamtrain organised by association steam group Zürich (Verein Dampfgruppe Zürich) with Eb 3/5 # 5819 and B 3/4 # 1367 of SBB Historic made a visit on the about 2 kilometer long rest of the former railway line from Otelfingen over the Schwenkelberg to Niederglatt, called the "Schipka pass", with a maximum grade of 9.5 o/oo. This was part of the 19 kilometer long line from Wettingen to Niederglatt, inaugurated in 1877 by the Schweizerische Nordostbahn (NOB) and never electrified. The operation on the line was stopped in 1937 and in 1969 the line was closed officially, about 4 kilometers were dismantled, are completely overgrown now and partially built over with houses. Here there was no train for more then 10 years and trees and shrubs had to be cut back extensively over several days.
