| Charging upgrade through the crossing at Coxo, Cumbres & Toltec 487 is just moments away from throwing some smoke on the stack as the fireman prepares for the hardest climb of the day - the grueling 4% grade just out of picture to the right - that will deposit the train atop Cumbres Pass and an elevation of more than 10,000 feet. While it might be late August, the beautiful foliage scattered throughout the New Mexico wilderness almost makes one feel like its spring. |
