Freshly rebuilt CTrail (CTDX) GE P40BH 6701 leads southbound CTrail train 6403 as it passes the abandoned New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad Cedar Hill YMCA overpass on Amtrak's MRS Line in New Haven, Connecticut on October 3rd, 2021. The Railroad YMCA was organized in the late 1800s as a partnership between the YMCA and railroad companies to provide wholesome overnight lodging and meeting space for railroad workers. This location, just beyond the brush to the left, was recently rebuilt into luxury apartments after sitting abandoned for many years. The pedestrian overpass did not see the same fate.
6701 (ex-CTDX 834, exx-AMTK 834) is the second of Connecticut DOT's fleet of 12 GE P40DCs (P40BHs) to receive a complete rebuild by Amtrak's Beech Grove Shops in Indiana and Rensselaer Shops in New York.
