Remarks & Notes
I happened to be in Moab, UT when a friend reminded me that the once a week UP potash local runs on a Friday, wait thats today! All my previous plans for the day were now pushed to the side as I headed to the Cane Creek Branch. Today's train ran late morning, making the lighting in Bootlegger Canyon spectacular, but challenging. After seeing some amazing photos taken by others here, I have always wanted a crack at creating my own version of a shot with the Corona Arch. The scenery is spectacular, personally speaking every bit if not more so than in nearby Arches National Park. The hike to this location is an adventure in itself and the views go on forever. Additionally, there is now a Rocky Mountain Railtour train that operates on this line 2x a week opening up more opportunities to highlight this incredible piece of railroad.

Landscape photography is difficult due to the challenge of combining good light and good scenery. Good railroad photography enters another level of complexity since it requires the first two while there is a train in view.
