UNESCO World Heritage Semmering line of the ÖBB (Austrian State Railway). A southbound freight train can be seen tackling the north ramp (up to 2.8 % grade) and crossing the 184 meter long and 46 meter high Kalte Rinne viaduct between Breitenstein and Wolfsbergkogel stations. On the far right, at the entrance of the 337 meter long Polleros tunnel, you can see cars near the end of the train. Pulling are the locomotives 1144 # 224 and "Taurus" 1116 # 143 in multiple control. In the background is the Rax mountain with the Heukuppe (2007 meter a.s.l.) on the left. |
