Union Pacific train ZLTG2 (Lathrop, CA - Global 2 Intermodal Facility) snakes through the Truckee River Canyon on an October afternoon. Known as "Glenshire" by local railfans due to access off of Glenshire Road, this is one of the easier locations to get to on Donner; only requiring a level walk on a short trail from the road to the cliffside. I had scoped this location out the day before, hoping to get a morning westbound, but it never came. Sunday was much busier on the mountain; and dispatch had 4 EBs stacked up between Shed 10 and Newcastle waiting on Amtrak 5 to go through the sections of single track between Truckee & Shed 47, and Shed 10 and Switch 9. After 5 went through this Z was sent out first despite being the third train in line.
