| In May of 2021 the Ontario government outlined an initial plan for the ONR to resume the “Northlander” rail service with 13 proposed stops between Toronto and Timmins (in place of Cochrane). Rail operations ceased back in 2012 after government spending was slashed and service is now expected to be reinstated in the mid-2020s. P300 acted as a “test train” with government officials from across north-eastern Ontario riding together to hopefully further develop the project. Here it is kicking up the fresh dusting of snow while the flurries continue at Scotia just minutes after sunrise. |
