Remarks & Notes |
A long steamtrain with 2-8-2- Baldwin # 1 and # 16 is leaving Cerro Mesa on kilometer 127 of the "Trochita" (Old Patagonian Express), the former Ferrocarriles Argentinos 75 centimeter gauge ligne from Ingeniero Jacobacci to Esquel. The first tank car is for fuel oil for the locomotives, the other two for water, because most of the water supplies on the northern part of the line till El Maiten aren't functional. This was a Trains Unlimited charter (with a group from Switzerland of Rail Road Romance) which travelled the whole line of 402 kilometers during three days. |
