A new candidate for the ugliest train contest, the new cogwheel railcar of the Rigi Bahnen. On May 22, 2019, Rigi Bahnen signed a contract with Stadler Rail for the delivery of 6 new double railcars. The articulated railcars with 150 seats are partially low-floor to comply with the Disability Equality Act and have automatic couplers so that two vehicles can travel together. So far, the Bhe 4/6 # 41 to # 43 have been delivered and are doing test runs, with scheduled service to begin in March 2022. The very special design of the vehicles with the colors white, black and bronze was developed by "milani design" in Thalwil together with the Rigi Bahnen, striking are especially the upward angled front sections, which is not due to technical reasons. The color scheme is supposedly a tribute to the world's oldest operable rack-and-pinion railcar, the BCFhe 2/3 # 6 of 1911. The brand new Bhe 4/6 # 43 came up from Vitznau on a test run and is changing direction in Rigi Staffel track 2, to run down to Rigi Klösterli.
