Chicago & North Western RS2 54 is in home territory as it idles next to the former CGW station in Faribault, Minnesota circa 1973/1974. At this point 54 has been owned by the CNW for several years, but still remains in full CGW paint. 54 will later be repainted in CNW green and yellow and move to the CNW Alco line as the resident switcher in Huron, South Dakota. The former CGW tracks and station, which was located on the east side of 1st Ave NE between 1st St NE and 2nd St NE, are now gone. It looks like my father braved some serious cold on this day. R. T.
