Union Pacific GE AC4400CW-CTE No. 5687 is being overhauled in the backshop at the railroad’s Burnham Shops in Denver, Colorado, on December 7, 2015. The old 4,400 hp 7FDL16 prime mover is lower right, but the new one is not coming right off the truck as it appears. At this point, UP has already announced that it would be closing the former Rio Grande facility in February 2016, and many tools, supplies, parts, etc., was in the process of being moved to other shops. This new prime mover is being loaded onto a truck, with another one still on the floor to be installed in No. 5687.
