The final Christmas Lantern Express of the day crosses the Three Rivers Trestle, named for where the French Broad & Holston Rivers meet to form the Tennessee River. The dusk lighting shines down on both the train & Gilliam's Station, where Devereaux Gilliam, one of Knoxville's earliest settlers, built a house at the Forks of the River in 1786.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
