Heading west as my wife and I were taking our walk this evening, we could see that a nice sunset was developing. Once home, I grabbed my camera and headed out the door, which was no surprise to my wife, of course, and headed the three miles to the Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center to catch a Los Angeles-bound Amtrak Pacific Surfliner, as it would make a nice photo. Unfortunately, my drive took 8 minutes, and the train beat me to the ARTIC by two minutes. And the sunset had turned into a spectacular one! So, I waited about ten minutes, hoping the sunset would last that long in the quickly fading winter light, for a southbound Metrolink commuter train heading to Oceanside. And luck was apparently on my side and the blazing oranges, yellows and reds in the western sky held up (and were, for the most part, not visible to the crowd in the adjacent Angel Stadium, just barely visible on the left … But tonight’s event was a motocross race, so I doubt many in the crowd would have appreciated this colorful dusk) as Metrolink F125 907 pulled train 668 under the Orange Freeway (CA-57) and into the station. But I certainly appreciated the light show occurring in the western sky! (Anaheim, California – January 29, 2022)
